Brief Bio:
Worked widely in different subfields of linguistics: articulatory and instrumental phonetics; morphology and syntax; applied phonetics and phonology; phonetic and linguistic documentation; grammatical descriptions; linguistic aspects of language pedagogy; grammatology; and historical comparison. Worked on various languages of different language families of South-Asia. His fieldwork languages included: Dravidian: Toda, Koekor Gadaba, Kuwi, Tamil; Indo-Aryan: Pahari languges, Nepali; Indo-Iranian: Kashmiri; Tibeto-Burman: Tiddim Chin (India and Burma), Tangkhul Naga, Newari (Nepal); Autstro-Asiatic: Gutob Gadaba, Korku, Khasi.
